The centrally located Hotel Corona in Moena is the first inn of the town, whose traditions go back to the beginning of the 1800's. |
|
The first hotelier was Eugenio Deville, born in Moena in 1875, originally a professional decorator/ upholsterer. In 1927 he decided to change jobs and for this reason he bought the "Corona", which at that time was a hotel of small size with 12 beds for passing clientele. Eugenio married Lucia Zanoner with whom he had two sons: Silvio e Gino. A sad destiny hit the Deville Family when the wife Lucia died giving birth to their third child. |

A year later Eugenio married Marta Sommavilla, and from this union the daughter Lina was born. The first son Silvio graduated with a diploma in bookkeeping / accounting from Merano and is employed by a company in Ora. |

|
Originally from Ora is Francesca Benedetti who Silvio married in 1929. They have four children: Carla born in 1929, Wanda born in 1934, Franca born in 1942 and lastly Walter born in 1942. In the meantime the construction of the third floor of the hotel began.
In 1932 Silvio and Francesca Deville moved to Moena to help Eugenio manage
the hotel. In these years the work was hard however Silvio could always
count on the help of his wife who ran the kitchen. In 1958 another
complete restoration of the hotel took place. |

The new hotel was run by Silvio himself and with the valued collaboration of his son Walter. In 1982 Silvio died and the management of the hotel passed to the hands of Walter and his sisters. The mother, Francesca, continued to manage the Corona. |

The Hotel "de
VILLE***" is now run by Walter and his sister Franca. |
