The eastern Dolomites form the most fascinating areas of the alpine chain, noted for its steep roads and paths, many shelters, and for its unique natural beauty.  Moena has the fortune of having many itineraries that depart from its center.

The Peak of  Bocche
From the slate chain of Bocche is the highest peak of 2745 m. from which you can see an infinity of views.  By reason of its dominant position, it was the object of bitter cruel fighting during the first world war (the Tevere Brigade lost 2000 men there). Still today this historic mountain shows evidence of the wounds of that war.  Out of a sense of respect it was preferred to construct only a small building for all those needing shelter from bad weather or prolonged stays.
